PartyPoker Premier League has just begun for the third time. At the beginning of the tournament a participant called Tran, who is the World Series of Poker bracelet-winner and APT ambassador, made a wonderful start. As a PKR representative he has just pick 10 points and won $20,000, after overcoming 2-1 chip deficit and beating Peter Eastgate, who is the WSOP Main Event champion.
As far as the rules of the tournament are concerned, twelve world’s best players have to play against each other. Some of the participants will be: Annette Obrestad, Tony G, Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott, Phil Hellmuth, and Tom Dwan. Each of them will have to take part in the preliminary stages, and play six times in a row. The best eight will then play at the final table and fight for two seats of the showdown.
At the London’s tournament Tran was supported by Asian Poker Tour ambassadors Quinn Do and Nam Le, when he had beaten such names as Obrestad, Roland de Wolfe, and Andy Black who has won the Premier League II in the previous year. Tran admitted that it was a very good start, but he also added that there still is a long way to go. He also said that he is happy of having one win under the belt. “I love the format of the Premier League and am excited about what is going to come,” states Tran.
